About Work Market, Inc.
Work Market is a new venture, backed by Spark Capital and Union Square Ventures. Our aspirations are grand, and we have lots to do to win at this and change the world with our labor platform. Here is our commitment to you: You will be surrounded by ambitious, super smart people who like to push the envelope with technology. We’re building stuff that simply has not been built before. In return, we ask that: You be in touch with the real world; you think, live and breathe like a user of our system. We only do well if we develop the best user experiences possible. Our Process
You should expect to meet lots of people on our team during the interview process. Feel free to show off why you’re great. Bring more than just tight code. Tricks? Poetry? Music? Juggling? Well-rounded, interesting and entertaining people are a plus. Start up experience? Been through Plan A, B and C? Did you handle this well? You must be hardworking, easygoing, able to articulate concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, and have labor/services/the social web/open source in your DNA!
High maintenance people need not apply; if you are accustomed to (or plan on demanding) a laptop, mobile phone plan or shoes for your new job, we are probably not the place for you. Lastly, if you’re the person that is standing outside your building smoking a few times a day, you’re probably not the right person either…
